Plague Poetry

Rot, decay, and entropy
Brought about by our apathy
Sickness rampant, death pandemic
Fear overload breeds frenzy chaotic

Leaders fumble in incompetence
Betraying public confidence
Misinformation from talking heads
Mouths that vomit viscous dread

Maggots in masks, walking warily
Squirming under threat of death verily
Society breaking apart
Mother Nature's vengeful art

Indefinite quarantine
Just another pathetic scene
Mandatory segregation
All across each and every nation

Virus spreads indiscriminately
Rich or poor, all die equally
Apocalyptic escalation
Televangelical predation

Far flung from the sight of God
Humanity's final hours dawn
Death's shadow looms; worms to be fed
Wagon goes by; bring out your dead
